The game was at a standstill, The whiskey running dry. Smoke danced like their mistress, Death was looming at their door. The game was to end at midnight, Five minutes on the clock. The ticking was their warning, Their warning was about to stop. Nobody knew a life would end, Nobody but one. He folded his cards, And gave the devil’s own grin. For the clock stroke midnight, It’s shrieking loud and clear! He pulled out a gun, From his coat, out came a gun! It fired into the night, It fired blood red that night! This is a story that took place long ago, in a realm of eternal darkness. Souls of the deceased would forever wander the realm, until their hearts became pure and they could be reborn once more. Only, the sins of their souls continuously tainted the land until it would have fallen in complete darkness, if not for the ruler.   The ruler of the land was Death. The room was white.  It was square, small and held no doors or windows.  In precisely in its center, sat a perfectly symmetrical black box.  The purpose of this box is quite simple; it brings and takes back items. But for what purpose would that be necessary?  Well now, this room had one lone inhabitant, a small, fragile girl. Dressed in a plain white cotton dress, she seemed to become one with the wall itself.  The only thing that stood out was her black hair; why, if not for her hair, I can say with upmost certainty that the girl, most likely would not have existed, at least not like you or me.  Slowly the girl sat up, and with light, quiet
